Hey Everyone! I finally have a chance to post my reviews of both Friday and Saturdays shows. Both shows were INCREDIBLE! The guys sounded great together. This is the best that I have heard Mike sound (which, doesn't mean that I've ever heard him sound bad, just UNBELIEVABLY good for these 2 shows). Even my boyfriend, who is more of a casual fan of the band said Mike sounded great! The band was tight (musically), but very loose up on stage. I sat in the same place for both shows (front row, center), so I got some great pics of the band. I should have them back Friday afternoon, and I'll try to get them scanned and on the website this weekend. The set list was the same for both shows. No real surprises, except for Prissy, Prissy and This Could Be The Night. The only differences between Friday's show and Saturday's show, was on Friday, Mike introduce the band, and also made an indirect reference to Scott. During Lovin' Every Minute of It, when Mike gets the crowd to sing along, he told the crowd to sing loud enough so that they could hear us in rock and roll heaven. There was also a photographer with the band, and she took a bunch of live shots during Saturday's show.
After Saturday's show, several of us waited for the band to come out of the venue after the show. The first one out was Paul, and he waved to us and headed into the casino. At first I was surprised, because usually the band is very fan friendly, but I should have known not to doubt the boys. Paul actually went all the way up to his room to change his clothes, and then came back to where we were waiting outside the venue to talk to us and sign autographs. What a great guy!!! He could have just stayed in his room, or gone into the casino, but instead he made the effort to come back and see us! We chatted for a few minutes, and Paul told us that he'd let the rest of the guys know that we were waiting for them. (It was Gail's birthday, from Loverboy's management, so the guys were having a party for her backstage.) Doug came out next, and he signed autographs for everyone and thanked us for coming out to the show. Matt and Spider came out together, again they both signed autographs and chatted briefly. Next, Paul came by again, and he said that Mike would probably be on his way out soon. Mike came out with Gail, the photographer, and some local radio people (I remember the radio people from last years show in July), so I didn't get to talk to him as much as I'd hoped. He also signed autographs for everyone and chatted briefly.
Oops, I almost forgot. I did tell Paul that there was a huge group of people (I told him 21) from the mailing list going to the New York show. I don't know if he even knows about the list, but I guess he does now! I am so jealous of the New York group, because you are going to have a great time, and have other great fans to share it with. One of these days, we'll have to plan something far enough in advance so that a majority of us can get together for a show!
Sorry so long, if you made it all the way through my review, I appreciate it!!!
