It was a really hot night in Beloit, Wisconsin, my family and I had traveled 4 hours to see this show! We went for REO Speedwagon, but little did I know I would discover another awesome band that I absolutely love! Sure, I had their hits on my iPod, but I never thought I would be seeing them live!
My Mom and I came early to get good seats, it really worked because we got 2nd row on the left side of the stage. First, a band called "Bad Boy" played, then it took awhile to set up for Loverboy. I was so excited! I saw Doug come out and do something with the keyboard and I really wanted to go and say hi to him but I was too shy, I really should have went up to him. So then everyone came out except Mike came out and started jamming! It sounded so good, they started with "The kid is hot tonite"! We all stood up and started jamming out! Then Mike came running out and started singing, it was very cool. Mike then threw earplugs to a family with a disabled boy, which I thought was very sweet of him, it really made me feel good about this band already!!! haha! It was so nice!
They played a few more songs, and then Mike put a hat on Spider! It was pretty funny. I waved at Doug and pointed at him on his solos because I thought he did a freaking awesome job on them! I'm a keyboarder myself, and he just blew me away! He smiled at me a ouple times and I was very excited!
Then they played "Lovin' every minute of it" and everyone got on their feet!!!! After that song, Mike said "I think it's time for another weekend!!" And we all know what that means!!! All of a sudden we heard the cowbell and everyone went absolutely crazy!!!!
Meanwhile, Matt was playing like a maniac and we could see him sweating, A LOT! He is such a great drummer!!
My Dad actually caught the one guitar pick that Paul threw out, he threw it at my family! It was the only one he used the whole show :)
I had a great time at the show, I am definitely going to see Loverboy again this summer :) I really hope they add more dates for the fall because if so, I will be there! Doug is my favorite out of the band, he just rocks, and I really hope I get to meet him someday :)
