Loverboy Rocks the Northview Golf and Country Club in Surrey B.C., for the Canadian Cancer Society Benefit Performance, Saturday April 30th, 2005
After a wonderful evening of champagne, exquisite food and a live and silent auction, with proceeds benefiting the Canadian Cancer Society, what better way to end off the evenings festivities, with a performance by the greatest band in the world Loverboy. After the dinner was over, The guests were escorted into a large white tent, anxiously awaiting their concert. The lights dimmed down and then you could hear Doug's keyboards starting up, along with Matt's drums. Then appears Mike, Paul, Spider, Doug and Matt all looking great as usual.
The first song of the night was "The Kid is Hot Tonight". Of course I along with my girlfriend, were the first two people to go up to the front row and start dancing to their music. Then the crowd started Rocking along with us. Mike sang the duet "Almost Paradise", showing off that amazing tone and vocal range in his voice, along with his friend Cathy St.Germain. Loverboy also performed more of their hits "This Could Be the Night", "Hot Girls in Love", "Notorious", "Take Me To the Top", "Turn Me Loose", "Working For The Weekend" and ending off the evening with "Loving Every Minute Of It". The boys all sounded amazing as usual and blew the audience away.
Everyone attending the concert enjoyed themselves, and it was nice to see older couples slow dancing to the slow songs and just letting loose.
It was a very upclose, and personal evening with the band. What more could any Loverboy fan ask for.
